How condition works on OGGA
Every lot carries a condition label. "New" means unused stock. The rare pre-owned lot is scored out of 10 and described honestly, and the gallery shows the actual club, not a catalogue picture.
If a lot arrives damaged or materially different from its description, contact us within 7 days of receiving it and we will put it right, as the Consumer Protection Act requires.
What to check when buying used golf clubs
If you do buy second-hand golf clubs anywhere, check these before you pay:
- Grooves on irons and wedges: worn grooves reduce spin, especially from the rough.
- Clubface and crown on drivers and woods: look for dents, cracks and sky marks.
- Shaft: no dents, rust or bends, and the flex (regular, stiff, senior) matches your swing.
- Grips: worn or shiny grips need replacing, which adds to the cost of every club.
- Ferrule and hosel: a cracked or loose ferrule can mean the head has been re-glued.
- Authenticity: counterfeit clubs exist, so buy from a seller you can hold to account.
How OGGA auctions work
- Each auction runs for 3 to 4 days and carries 30 to 50 lots, with a single closing time for every lot.
- Register free with your name, email address and mobile number, then verify your email. Add your residential address before your first bid, as South African law (FICA) requires.
- Bid any amount at or above the minimum next bid shown on the lot. Every bid is binding.
- A bid placed in the final 2 minutes extends that lot by 2 minutes, so nobody can win by sniping in the last second.
- When the auction closes, the highest bid that meets any reserve wins. You get one invoice for everything you won in that auction.
- Log in to ogga.co.za to pay by card or EFT through Paystack. We never email payment links.
